The proposed facility will utilise sorting, segregating and advanced thermal treatment to treat up to 205,000 tonnes per annum of collected waste from commercial, industrial and municipal sources. This will help meet future demand for sustainable waste management and the generation of renewable energy. The facility will produce approximately 23 MWe of ‘green’ energy.
The project also included securing planning approval for the ancillary infrastructure works including a new substation complex and the discharge of pre-construction planning conditions. We were subsequently asked to prepare and submit the application for the Environmental Permit for the approved facility. Construction work on the project is due to start in 2019.
